Coaches Q&A with Pat Clark:

Q. What kind of leader is he?

A. He’s more of a leader by example. But he will speak up when its time to speak up. He’s very good under pressure. When you are the quarterback everybody is looking at you. When your team needs a play, you are the guy that needs to make that play and he comes through for us.

His greatest leadership attribute is the way he makes plays in pressure situations. The kids really respond to him.

Q. What are his strengths at quarterback?

A. He’s a tremendous passer. He has great mobility and is very good at keeping the pass play alive until he finds the open guy. He’s got great vision and the ball is out when it’s supposed to be out.

Q. How’s his running ability?

A. Last year he had four or five design carries and we are probably going to get him a few more carries this year.

Q. How’s he on special teams?

A. He has handled the kicking and punting duties for three-years. Last year he made a 43 and 48-yard field goal. He could be a division one kicker or punter.
