Coaches Q&A with Phil Gormley:
Q. What are his strengths on defense?
A. His biggest asset is his speed off the ball. He had 28 sacks for us last year. He just does things you can’t coach.
His first two or three steps off the ball are faster than any body they have seen last year, said some college coaches.
He’s a solid run stopper and was second on our team in tackles last year and last year teams tried and run away from him.
Q. What are his strengths at tight end?
A. He has worked real hard at the tight end position. Last year he did a better job at catching the ball for us. When we’re at the goal line we can throw the ball up to him.
Q. Final thoughts on Gladimir?
A. He’s a great kid and is always working hard in practice and is a good student. He’s working on his speed with a trainer. He has gone to a lot of football camps.
Q. What position could he play at the next level?
A. The colleges that run a 3-4 defense are the teams that have offered for him. He will play the outside linebacker spot and rush the passer from that spot.
I think wherever he ends up going, they are going to be very happy with the player they get. This is a kid that is not just focused on football, he gets the whole picture.
Schools of Interest: As of 7/4, he has offers from Connecticut, Massachusetts, Monmouth and Temple
