Coaches Q&A with Drew Gordon:
Q. What kind of leader is he?
A. He is a quiet kid. He is more of a leader by example. He comes and does what he is supposed to do. He’s a very smart kid. He understands everything we try to do. He is very coachable and is always working to get better. He is a team player first and will play anywhere on the field if it would help the team. He’s very versatile.
Q. He plays all over the field for you. Talk about his strengths?
A. I think his best position is outside. He is not a big kid, but has good speed and instincts. He understands what he is doing out there whether it is at receiver, quarterback or safety. He is a student of the game. One of the things I like about him is even in practice he will lineup against our best player so he can get better.
Q. What are his strengths as a receiver?
A. He’s a very smart player and has great hands. He has the knack to find the open space. He’s a competitor out there and runs smart routes.
Q. How is he as a special teams player?
A. He’s a very good punt returner and is very good at finding the open spot for a big return.
Q. How is he as a safety?
A. On defense his strength is anticipation and speed. He’s good at reading pass patterns and where he can get there and make a play.
