Coaches Q&A with Carm DeFrancesco:

Q. What are his strengths at the tight end position?

A. We use him as an h-back. We like to put him in the slot. What is unique about him is, we run him on those jet sweeps. He has top end speed, but doesn’t have that great burst off the line. If you watch him run track at 20 meters he starts to hit his stride.

We like to use him on crossing routes and get him into open space. The reason we like to use him in the slot a lot is, because we will get a matchup with him on a linebacker and that is a good matchup for us.

Q. What are his strengths at the linebacker position?

A. He’s more of a blitzing guy. We put him in that grey area and send him off the edge. He does a good job in coverage. He’s more of our strongside/outside linebacker.

Q. Is he playing any other position for you this year?

A. He may see sometime at the fullback position and from that position we can motion him from that spot. A lot of schools are recruiting him at the h-back position. He also plays some special teams.

College Offers: Brown and Davidson (He has a lot of interest from the Ivy and Patriot schools).
