The inaugural Chesapeake Bowl is sure to have the attention of college coaches and recruiting fans from around the country. Labeled as a Regional All-Star its appeal will stretch well beyond its geographical boundaries. Tabbed the Civil War, the game will match up the best players from New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware versus the best players from Maryland, Virginia, Washington D.C. and West Virginia. The North team will be coached by Terry Smith from Gateway High School in Monroeville, PA and the South Team will be coached by Biff Poggi from the Gilman School in Baltimore, MD. The two coaching staffs will also have coaches from nationally renowned programs including Bishop McDevitt, Don Bosco, Penn Hills, Good Counsel, Phoebus and DeMatha Catholic. The collection of coaches involved will certainly provide the players with a tremendous learning experience and really sets this game apart from most of the other games around the country. But it is the players themselves that give this game its “National” appeal.
