Head coach Randy Spencer enters his third season at the helm after replacing Paul Marranca who held that position for twenty-seven years. Coach Marranca stayed on as an assistant after stepping down from his head coaching position but in 2010 will take over the Hazleton football program.
The team opened last year with a 2-0 mark but suffered setbacks in each of their final eight games. The Warriors return senior Julian Campenni (OT/DT) who has been receiving looks from Indiana and most Mid-American schools. The 5’11, 255-pound high energy defender had eleven sacks as a junior. Senior Nick Perugini (C/LB) comes back for his final season after snagging two picks a year ago. On the offensive side of the ball, Warrior quarterback Chris Murphy threw for over 1,400 yards in 2009. He will have a big target in 6’4 Larry Popovich to throw the ball up to.
Wyoming Area closes out the 2010 season with two of their final three at home.
