Written by: on Monday, December 3rd, 2012. Follow Josh Funk on Twitter.

Statewide football rankings are compiled and updated weekly by EasternPAFootball.com’s Josh Funk and released for publication each Monday during the season. Installments for Weeks 1 through 16 will include the team, geographic district, overall season record and, for Thanksgiving weekend, the team’s most recent result from the previous week. Teams listed in the “Honorable Mention” category are arranged in numerical order by geographic district. Please note, if multiple teams from a geographic district appear in HM, they are arranged in alphabetical order within that specific region.

  1. Jimbo-

Does LaSalle play defense??? Have they discovered Defense yet??

Giving up 28 pts in the first half..

Really??? Yo have no clue bro…

  2. brian,
According to this Poll, Sharpsville was #3 in week 13 with Port Allegany ranked 8th. Port Allegany beats #3 Sharpsville while Sto-Rox, Southern Columbia and Old Forge are now out after losing. Week 14 Port moves up to 7th while these three losing teams still ranked ahead of Port Allegany who beat the #3 team. It does not seem to make sense. Maybe I am being a little simple, but if you beat the #3 team, you are probably better than them.

  3. Dave it is possible that those teams are better than Port Allegheny. Sometimes the best teams in the state come from one side or even the same district. Let it all play out and after the state title game it will all fall into place. Dunmore beat SCA by 6 pts. If Dunmore goes out and beats the snot out of Bellwood Antis friday and faces clairton in hershey and shows a good effort against the bears it is possible that Clairton is 1, Dunmore 2, SCA 3, etc.

  4. Yo-

If Parkland or Harrisburg played Spring-Ford they would lose by 20… I can’t talk about “The Prep” cause they don’t play anybody good but LaSalle.. I can’t speak to the western teams cause I don’t know them..

Just saying… It is what it is……….

  5. I’m a big MCD fan but there’s no way Cathedral Prep. should not be #1. I’m very nervous about this game on Friday.

  6. Something is wrong with the A ratings. Port Allegany is still playing while Sto-Rox, Southern Columbia, and Old Forge are out but they are all still ranked ahead of Port Allegany.

  7. SV actually scored on the Wyo starters in the playoff game (in the 1st quarter, no less), which nobody else has managed to do.

  8. You are right SV did give Wyomissing a game in the regular season, but Wyomissing smoked them in the playoffs. That is where it matters most.

  9. Josh,
I think you need to show a little love for Schuylkill Valley. Even though they had 4 losses, all were to some pretty decent teams, and they’re the only AA to put points on Wyomissing and give them a game. If you have Berks Catholic as HM, SV deserves it, too, compared to teams like Bermudian and Danville that got totally smoked.
