Jack,
All I get from that last response, and, quite frankly, all of your responses on the subject, is “I’m just mad at you because you aren’t mentioning my particular team.” Initially, you asked why Catty wasn’t HM. I told you, and in the opening line of your response to my reasoning, you did concede that was a fair point while adding you felt differently about the 2012 team’s chances. This isn’t an issue of my credibility, but rather an issue of you just being angry that your particular team you root for isn’t being recognized. That’s why I asked why HM is so important to people. Asking that question is not a disgrace if you understand the context in which I asked it. Apparently, for you, that wasn’t the case.
You clearly laid out for me huh? Basically you put forth the flawed reasoning that in the past few seasons they lost games to the better teams in the CL North after beating the weaker teams in the south. This reasoning is of course ludicrous as every year is a different year and to judge a team based on graduated players is senseless. I suppose since coaches remain more constant it could be used as a loose guide, but that is the extent of it. As for being HM being a big deal it speaks to the validity and credibility of your rankings, so for you to ask that question is a disgrace. In addition, you would assume that to be the first step in being ranked, which( if you hold your own work in any esteem ) should be meaningful. It’s OK, I’m pretty sure Catty (and Tamaqua) will get along just fine until the funkmeister catches up with the story.
Even with Catty’s top two running backs down and out they still have a passing game that they need to stop. Don’t forget no one has seen you the have behind these two great backs, I have been to every game and seen the JV running still run over the first team after the game was out of hand,
Jack,
I clearly laid out for you last week why Catty isn’t an HM. Besides, what is the big deal with being HM anyway? I was talking with a Hall of Fame sportswriter friend of mine from District 4 earlier this week, and he and I both laughed heartily at the notion that people get so fired up over a team being in HM or not. He and I both don’t get what the big deal is. Maybe he and I are both naive, so can you enlighten me as to why being listed in HM means so much? Wouldn’t you personally rather see your team listed among a top-10 in its particular statewide classification?
@ Lance of Beaver Falls,
You were phenomenal at University of Nebraska. Great career, what you doing with yourself now?
That game you had against Prep Charter in the finals was excellent. The Morris twins had too much for everyone in AA that season!
I believe at the 2A level that aliquippa and imhotep are the best two teams but states will settle all of this
So another week passes, this time both NL and PA are listed while Catty is left out. Despite the fact that they have now both lost to teams that the Roughies ran out of the stadium. Don’t worry Funkster, you can have your vindication next week if they lose to Bangor without their starting backfield. I still think that’s a big if. I’m just hopeful that by the time Catty plays Tamaqua for the district championship, one of them can make honorable mention
Catasauqua’s top 2 running backs, Burton & Matz, look like they are doubtful for Friday nights game at Bangor
Rankings are just that….rankings….playoffs will sort all of that out
tamaqua will have their hands full with north schuylkill Should be the best game in the area by far Go raiders!
Reading the paper this week they had Catty umber Nine. They are 5-0 going for 6-0 When Bangor come to play them on Friday. The are also leading in points for playoffs why are the not on this list.
@ Johnny. I am a Ridley graduate and definitley think this year’s team is better than last. I still am a little cautious after what happened 2 years ago (first round exit). If Darren Washington keeps running well, they get decent (turnover free) QB play, and limit penalties, they will be a force to be reckoned with. The defense is usually solid and looks to be so far this year. It’s the biggest line I’ve seen Ridley have in awhile. This week will be a challenge because Garnet Valley has had their number recently, is coming off a loss, and will be fired up, and it’s an away game. I hope you’re right, time will tell. I’m still trying to figure out why Ed Hild didn’t play in the second half against Harriton. Was he hurt?
Ranking the Washington Lil Prexies at #3 is Absurd. I also believe South Fayette is better than Quip. Imhotep should be #1.
Ridley should definitely be ranked…they’re still 5-0 and spanking every team they play. They’re going deep in the playoffs for sure, maybe even states.
Funkster thanks for showing the love to the Cougars of Springfield Delco
AAA Mars Area goes to Franklin Regional and wins 21-17. All Mars did after that was remain a perfect 5-0, with a combined score of 200-19 in their other 4 games. Mars is an honorable mention and Franklin Regional is #4. I’ve been asking for a few weeks, how does this make any sense at all? Tell me FR suspended half of their team in week 1. 15 starters are volunteer firemen and there was a big fire that night. There has to be some kind of reason that you rank them this way every week. Really curious as to what that reason is?
Harrisburg stuffs a hairball down Wilsons’ throat, in their house. Hbg single lose is to MCD, bye one point and they’re not in this top ten ?
I guess Tamaqua has to win Friday to get anything. I guess 40 points a game and a mercy rule against a good Annville-Cleona team isn’t enough but losing to Schuylkill Haven or getting killed by Palisades gets you on the list.
