  1. Coatesville Red Raiders vs Downingtown West Whippets @ Kottmeyer Stadium for the Ches Mont League Title…Both Teams are 5-0 in Ches Mont National… CV 9-0 DT West 7-2 with 6 game winning streak

  2. NTL: Bronze Helmet Game

    Wyalusing vs Towanda

    Series: Tied 15-15.

Towanda has won last 11 match-ups.

Always some hi-jinx, tricky plays, and plenty of bad blood between two schools 13 miles apart.

  3. Neshaminy vs Pennsbury – record over the years is 37 – 37 -7. Both are ranked in top 10 in the state. Should be a classic!

  4. @ed goodwin
Northeast has been playing Central since 1892, continuously. That would be more than 116 years. 116 is still pretty cool, but it’s not the oldest, continuous public HS rivalry.

  5. Tamaqua Area vs. Marian
Only played in football because of such bad blood between athletic departments and schools. No trophy because the schools will not share anything with the other. Against team rules to say the M-Word in the Tamaqua.

  6. Mt. Carmel vs Shamokin rivalry is also 100+ years old: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_high_school_football_rivalries_(100_years+)
This Pennsylvania Anthracite Coal Region rivalry began on October 28, 1893. Following a six-year hiatus from 1928–1933, the two teams have played each other every year since 1934. The game known as the “Coal Bucket Game”, formerly played on Thanksgiving Day, began in 1951 (series record: 69-25-11).
the Mike Terry award: Since 1962, the Mount Carmel Lions Club has sponsored the celebrated Mike Terry Awards, which are given to the outstanding back and lineman of the regular season contest between the Mount Carmel Area Red Tornadoes and the Shamokin Area Indians. The awards are given in memory of the legendary Mount Carmel Tornado football coach Mike Terry, who tragically passed away moments after his team won the annual Thanksgiving Day game between Shamokin and Mount Carmel in 1961.

  7. Montoursville Warriors 9-0 Vs Loyalsock Lancers 6-3

    As good as it gets!

    ENOUGH SAID!!!!!!

    Dietz#54 🙂

  8. Dallas vs Lake-Lehman for the “Old Shoe” Trophy up in D2.

Wyoming Area v Pittston Area in D2

Pottstown v Owen J Roberts in D1 (Thanksgiving)

Perkiomen Valley v Upper Perkiomen in D1

  9. Lower Moreland Lions vs New Hope-Solebury Lions
Saturday 2 PM at Lower Moreland
    “King of the Jungle”

Over the past few years these two B.A.L. Schools have had close games that have meant a lot for each program. Three years ago the Lower Moreland squad went to New Hope as the clear cut favorites. The games outcome would be a surprising 35-0 win for the underdog New Hope squad. Two years ago (2011 season) New Hope featured division-one talent all-purpose player Julian Kaminoff and a “slu” of young talent. They came into Lower Moreland as huge favorites as the Lions of “LM” we’re 0-9. The game turned out to be a classic battle that came down to a FG. New Hope went on to win that game and kept the LM squad winless for the season. The following season these two teams faced off in the District 1 AA championship which took place at New Hope. Another battle to the very end with each team making big plays. With 14 seconds left an only down by an extra point The Lions of New Hope would go for the two-point conversation and the win but we’re stopped short and Lower Moreland would be crowned District Champs on New Hope’s field. This year with a possible playoff spot on the line, this game is shaping up to be another great game. New Hope-Solebury has already achieved a goal they never reached before and that’s a Seven-win season and are in-line for their first football League Championship in football program history. LM is use to the title of league champs after winning in ’05, ’08, ’09, ’10. These two schools have been bitter rivals in most, if not all athletics played. And football is slowly working it’s way up that list. New Hope features a spread-option offense that is extremely explosive. Quarterback-Connor Hayden and ATH-Joe Dwight are the catalyst of the Lions of “NHS” offense. On the other side, for the Lions of “LM”, a defense that has proven to be a very talented bunch. With all-league linebackers Joe Leventhal & Ryan Killion at the helm this bunch is extremely well disciplined and have a great “nose” for the ball. They also feature and outstanding pass-rusher in Anthony Morales, whose 8 sacks this season broke the schools record of 7. Expect a battle to the very end.

  10. The Coal Bucket game between Mt. Carmel Area and Shamokin was always one of the best rivalries in the state but has fallen off in recent years. Mostly due to the fact that Shamokin hasn’t won since 1995 (even though many games have been very close). The game is now week 10, but on years when the game was still played in week 4 and both teams came in 3-0, attendance was >10,000.

  11. Lewisburg vs Mifflinburg for the Little Brown Jug. It is meaningful because both teams are playoff contenders with Lewisburg trying to get a 4th seed and home game and Mifflinburg fighting for the last spot.
