Brandon Yescavage, a 6-foot-2, 190-pound senior running back helped lead his team to a PIAA Class 1A Eastern title and a final standing as state runner-up.
On offense Yescavage had a huge year. He rushed for 2,666 yards on 320 carries and 45 touchdowns. He caught six passes for 75 yards and one score.
He helped his team to a 14-2 record. During his team playoff run, he rushed for almost 1,000 yards against teams like Dunmore, Southern Columbia, Schuylkill Haven, Steelton-Highspire and Pittsburgh North Catholic.
His junior year he played behind Brian Tomasetti. He rushed for 360 yards and five touchdowns.
“Brandon missed pretty much his sophomore year due to a injury. Last year, with Brian Tomasetti as our main back, he had limited carries for us,” said head football coach Mike Schuback. “But a year makes a difference. He came into this season more mature and in great shape. He made the most of his opportunities. He had a awesome year for us.”
