_MJT6804epaTwo weeks after senior running back Jarrett McClenton rushed for 230 yards and four touchdowns to lead Archbishop Wood over Central Valley 33-14, we name him our Big School Player of the year.

“Jarrett is a tremendous football player and young man,” said head football coach Steve Devlin.

It seemed in the big games Jarrett rose to the top. His junior year in the state final game against Bishop McDevitt he rushed for over 230 yards.

“The last games his junior and senior year were two really good games for him. He loves competition. You see when we give him the ball what he can do with it. He has a great combination of speed and strength.”

The Villanova recruit was named PA Football Writers’ Class AAA Player of the Year honors last Monday and is coming off his third PIAA title in four seasons.

McClenton finished the season rushing for 2,191 yards and 37 touchdowns. In his career he rushed for 3,903 yards. He’s a great blend of speed and power.

“Another great thing about Jarrett is that he just wants to win games. He doesn’t care about stats.”

The last three years his team had a record of 39-6.
