Teams expected to compete for District IV “A” title:
- South Williamsport/Wellsboro
Season Outlook/Comments:
- We lost some great players but more importantly great leaders with a solid work ethic- people need to emerge as leaders- our players need to develop confidence early
- Many open spots in our skill positions-competition will be good
- Roster should be 50 plus-very exciting-many new faces with great attitudes
- Great numbers at summer workouts this summer-dedicated group of players
- Solid nucleus of returning players, especially @ OL/DL
- Special teams should be strong again
- Team seems more accustomed to new staff/system in 2nd year- much time spent in summer on schemes and technique-Attention to the little things was our focus: “Football 101”
- Schedule is very difficult- 7 playoff teams from last year, plus our rival (C Columbia) and a guaranteed much improves team in Hughesville
- Offensively
– The play of our OL will dictate our success
– No player has game experience (Kashner has game exp.)- needs to efficiently run offense
– Scheme will be more simplified this year
- Defensively
– Major losses @ LB and FS
– DL needs to control the line of scrimmage-many are returners
