What are the key things we should know about your offense?
A. Our QB, Isaiah Rapp, is a senior who has started 21 straight games for us. As a starter his sophomore year he led us to a district four championship and the state quarterfinals. We expect a big year from him.
We return four key players who all sustained season ending injuries (or health concerns) last year. Junior David Klinger missed the entire year and should be an impact player at running back this year.
Junior Juvon Batts missed all of last season with a health concern. Juvon ran for over a thousand yards as a freshman and is now 100% recovered and ready for the ’14 season.
Senior Zach Adams had a great sophomore year as our starting fullback, but broke an ankle in week five last season. He has already been named to the PSFCA “Hot 100” list for the 2014 season at RB. Zach is also an outstanding secondary player and punter.
Junior Nic Swineford missed all of last season with in injury. He is expected to contribute heavily on both sides of the ball (receiver and defensive back).
Junior Angelo Martin rushed for just under 1000 yards last season and will be back again this year.
Senior Tight End Dylan Beaver is a returning all-conference player. He has started every game since his sophomore year and is being heavily recruited by the IAA schools, especially the Ivy League schools.
Junior Jack Gaugler was an all-conference offensive lineman and linebacker the last two seasons and should contribute heavily on both sides of the ball, as well as senior Brandon Hoover at the same positions.
Q. What are the key things we should know about your defense?
A. The defense should be led by an outstanding core of linebackers, all of whom started or saw consistent action at their position last season.
Junior Jack Gaugler has been an all-conference linebacker the last two seasons (as a freshman and a sophomore).
Senior Nate Bingaman is an outstanding linebacker and returning starter.
Dylan Beaver and Brandon Hoover are also returning starters in our 3-5 defense.
Zach Adams is an outstanding defensive back and has been a starter there since his sophomore year.
Junior defensive lineman Andrew Boob returns. He was named to the PHAC all-star team as a freshman and as a sophomore.
Q. What are the key things we should know about your special teams? Who are your kick and punt returners? Who are your kicker and punter?
A. Our kicker is Joey Radel, who shared the kicking duties with Brandon Sheaffer (who graduated).
Punter is Zach Adams who had a 35 yd. avg. last year until his season-ending injury.
