Q. What are the key things we should know about your offense?

A. New offensive coordinator TJ Quaker is very optimistic.  He worked with Coach Ream on the offense for the last 15 years.  We are going to run much of the same type of offense with some new wrinkles.

We graduated most of our offensive linemen.  Hunter Whitcomb is the lone returning starter.

Dacoda Rose OT (Sr.), Zach Miller TE (Sr), and Riley Stone OT (Jr.) all saw some playing time last year and should contribute this year.  Also in the mix are Logan Comp (Sr.), Jordan Long (Jr.), Clayton Zeigler (Jr.), Joe Dailey (Jr.), John Searer (Jr.), Stone Caldwell (JR), and Sophomores Marshall Putt and Christian Puchalsky.

The running back position will also be a position of inexperience.  Senior FB Talen Thebes and Junior TB Hunter Wilson have the talent to be quality starters but will be pushed by Colton Group (Sr.), Gabe Puchalsky (Soph), Curtis Fry (Jr), Greg Snyder (Soph) and Zach Rudy (Jr.).

At Wide Receiver there will again be an open competition with seniors Jake Owens, Kyle Thoman, and Dom Fry.  Sophomore Cameron May, will also be in the mix.

Our only other returning starter will be QB Chris Lehman.  Chris had a good junior year throwing for over 1300 yards and will look to improve upon it.

Sophomore Nate Salinetro will be a solid backup.  The staff feels that the open competitions for positions will make us a stronger team in the long run.

Q. What are the key things we should know about your defense?

 A. We are switching to a 4-3 defense and our new defensive coordinator Derek Puchalsky is up to the task.  Many of the same names that you saw competing for offensive positions will also be competing for defensive positions.

The defensive line will see Whitcomb as the lone returner with Stone, Rose, Thebes, Long, Zeigler, Dailey, Searer, Caldwell, Putt, and Christian Puchalsky all competing for playing time. Thebes saw some quality playing time last year as a defensive end.

At linebacker, Comp, Wilson, Curtis Fry, Group, Gabe Puchalsky, Miller and Rudy are working to earn a position.  Comp and Miller saw quality playing time last year at linebacker.

In the secondary, Owens, Fry, Thoman, May, Lehman, and Salinetro will compete for the open spots.  Owens and Thoman saw quality time last year.

Q. What are the key things we should know about your special teams? Who are your kick and punt returners? Who are your kicker and punter?

A. Special teams coordinator Craig May has been working hard to put a quality program together.  Gone is our Kicker/punter from last year and ready to step in is Scott Messner, a junior who also plays soccer.

Owens, Thoman, May, and Wilson will be competing for return jobs.
