  1. Curry submitted his letter of resignation, correct? I don’t even know why he came back…to help Berwick out of jam? I thought he wasn’t so happy they went with Campbell back then. Anyway, great, great coach. Right up there with Pettine, Roth, etc as the best ever in the state.

That said, why would he, at his advanced age want to put up with today’s youths? Entitled by their parents, many have never heard the word “no” and don’t know what “team” means until they get to a real coach. You’ve got to break them down and get them in the correct frame of mind before you can start building a foundation on them. Don’t get me wrong, there are still some great parents. But the majority today spend their kid’s formative years telling them they’re the next Brady or Watt. It takes A LOT of work to overcome that train wreck.

  2. To bad who ever don’t like curry than stay home.we don’t need you.nobody will ever beat Curry’s record.so get mad what I said its america.if curry don’t come back next year that program will go down hill

  3. Yep, agree. These guys don’t make enough money to have to put up with that kind of abuse.

Does this site do any “where are they now” type stuff? Interested to hear where high profile guys are a couple years out. Example, Dustin Jones – Lake-Lehman. 1st team all-state…went to Wilkes. He didn’t play last year. Did they redshirt him? Same for Scranton’s Karlon Quiller…went from Maine to Bloom. Stuff like that. I realize you can’t do it for all. But both these guys were at one time 1st team all state. (No, I’m not from the Northeast but those 2 guys sprung to mind.)

  4. Billy, while he’s still a quality coach, he is 70. Time to play with the grandkids. they’ve got a Berwick guy aligned to take over. I think Ken called that one right.

    1. @ Rollie….I edited your post…no insults will be allowed. as for the future of curry…you will just have to trust me on this…
@ mcd, using the same criteria as they always have to determine, just different numbers

  5. Ken and Splain, Curry’s resigning at Berwick at the conclusion of the season.

Also, surprised at Dallas hiring Rich Mannello. He had a horrible record as HC at King’s College (something like 30-104). I think his son plays there and his wife has a position of some influence within the district.

  6. Owen j Roberts just hired Rich Kulka from Muhlenberg HS as head coach. Kulka stated he lives only a few minutes from Owen J Roberts

  7. Well I guess I can tell you guys now…Dan Concannon, a product of the old St. John Neumann (’03), and a coaches’ All-Catholic pick, is Neumann-Goretti’s new football coach.

  8. What’s up guys! how’s everything going? Question: Does anyone know the Defensive Coordinator at Valley Forge Military Academy in District 1’s Name?

  9. Penn Manor new coach must be close to the vest. No idea at this time with a possibility of Cantafio who seems to float around every few years.

  10. 2003 MCA grad John Darrah was hired as new gridiron coach at Mt. Carmel. He served as N. Schuylkills defensive coach for the past 2 seasons and as Tri-Valley’s DC the previous 5 years.

  11. Hey guys are there any updates on who will or who’s in the running for Neumann-Goretti’s new head coaching job as of yet?

  12. I know this isn’t involving a HC position but word on the street is that former Parkland and Nazareth HC Rob Melosky is now the OC at Allentown Central Catholic.

  13. David,
The Selinsgrove School Board meeting was ppd and was rescheduled for tonight (1-27-15) but the agenda continues to be the same for hiring Derek Hicks as the next head coach.

    Pat

  14. Tonight(1-26-15)Selinsgrove School Board will be voting on whether to make long time assistant Derek Hicks the Seals next head football coach.

  15. According to Coach Curry, he isn’t ready to retire… Curry is definitely the last of a dying breed. If he can coach until he’s 100, God bless him. All I can say is that the kids will go to war for that man, what does that tell you?! Good luck to MCA with their search!

  16. Frank Sheptock resigned as MCA coach last night. He is going back to Berwick and is expected by many to take the HC position in Berwick.
Good luck to Frank. I know he is doing what is best for him and his family!
