D1 (FBS & FCS) Prospects: Grant Smith, Bo Heshler, Ethan Van Buskirk

Key Team Stats: Mid Penn Commonwealth Champions 6 years in a row and 7 of the last 8

2017 Outlook:

Offense:  Only 3 returning starters so there will be many new faces working together for the first time.  All-Conference RB Mike Wise returns and will have to provide a punch especially in the early going.  Grant Smith will be a target at TE/WR and Bo Heshler will anchor the OL.  This will have to be a unit that improves as the year goes on.

Defense:  Only 1 returning starter so it will be an extremely inexperienced unit.  LB Adam Burkhart will anchor the LB’s.  The DL and DB units will consist of all new faces.

Special Team:  All-Conference P/K Ethan Van Buskirk will be relied upon heavily for points and field position with this inexperienced AND young team.  He will be comfortable working with the same longsnapper (Joey Silvers) and same holder (Brady Straub) from 2016.  These 3 are potentially the MVP’s of this young and inexperienced team.  The kick returners and punt returners will all be new faces.
