Coaches comments:

How’s your offensive line?

“We return four out of the five lineman from last year. On the offensive line we are bringing back Ian Ficca at offensive guard. The other guard back is Chris Humbert. We are bringing back Matt Shipe at center. At tackle returning is Blake Remensnyder and he is 6-foot-6, 280-pounds. There is a battle at the other tackle spot between Jacob Sheridan and another kid that moved in from Selinsgrove and his name is Zack Campbell. Gunnar Feldmann is in the mix.”

“We are moving Zack Kozick to tight end.”

You have experience coming back at the quarterback spot. Talk about Weston.

“Yes, we have Weston Baylor coming back from last season. He is a great runner for a quarterback and has a strong arm and throws the ball extremely well.”

Note: Baylor passed for 1,420 yards and 18 touchdowns. He rushed for 353 yards and three touchdowns.

How’s your running game?

“We have both our kids back. We have back at halfback Isaac Croll and Sam Dressler is back at fullback.”

Note: Dressler and Croll combined for 1,854 yards rushing on 356 carries and 14 touchdowns last year.

How do your receivers look?

“We have a battle at the receiver position between Charles Rivera and Caleb Klein. Mike McCormick Gabe Shope are in the mix.”

How’s your defensive line?

“Jacob Sheridan returns on the line as a tackle. The other tackle will be Issac Troutman who played outside linebacker for us last year. Marcus Wilt will be our nose guard, He’s back.”

How are your linebackers?

“We are going with our All-State linebacker Eric Haney. The other linebacker is Gunnar Feldmann. He will play inside linebacker. Tom Brouse also returns at linebacker. Evan Tanner will see playing time and the other linebacker will be Gabe Shope.”

How about your secondary?

“We have only one player returning and he is Zach Kozick. At safety we are going with Caleb Klein. The other corner spot is a battle between Charles Rivera and Garrett Krum.”

What are your keys this year?

“We have a lot of experience coming back. We have 16 out of 22 kids returning. On offense our strength is our running game. Sammy Dressler needs only 1,100 yards to break the schools rushing record. On defense, it’s our overall defense, that is our strength. They were the glue that held our team together last year and they just flew to the ball and did a great job. Our secondary created 22 turnovers. The biggest key for us is not turning the ball over. We need to cut down on turnovers from last year.”
