Special Teams: “Chris Watson will be our punter. We have a freshman named Dillion McDonald and he is very talented. He will be our kicker. Cole Creighton was our punt returner last year but I think you may see guys like Denzel Hughes, D’Andre Pollard and Trokon Buesmaill back there. We have return guys that can do some damage.”

Coaches comments:

How’s your offensive line?

“We return Mike Palmer at offensive tackle. Dan Johnson returns at offensive guard. We have back at center, John Koch. We have four of five other guys competing for the final two positions. They are Hunter Kelly, Andrew Worth and Brendan Byrne. They are battling for playing time at guard or tackle positions.”

“Luke Carrezola returns at tight end. He verbally committed earlier this year to Connecticut. We have another returning letterman at tight end. He is going to be a sophomore, he is Billy Ritchey.”

How’s your quarterback?

“We have a battle going on this summer at quarterback. They are Tyler Wombough and Mason Jones who will be a freshman. Jones can move around real good and he throws well. Tyler is mobile.”

How’s your running game look?

“We lost Nate Hall from last year. But we have returning at running back, Denny Lord, Blake Sullivan and D’Andre Pollard. Devon Brown played a little running back. Trokon Buesmaill will see some action at running back. We have a few other guys battling for playing time.”

How are your receivers?

“Denzel Hughes will be a sophomore and lettered last year, he’s back. Hahman Pack is another wideout. Cole Creighton is back. Trokon Buesmaill will see some time.”

How’s your defensive line?

“We have Luke Carrezola returning at end. Alex Nicolas played at nose guard last year. Then we ended up with Blake Sullivan and Dorian Arthur at the other defensive end position. They are both very athletic kids and play hard. They did a really good job. Guys that may rotate in and help are Troy Taylor, Shane Corbett and Steve Rienzi. We have depth on the line.”

How do your linebackers look?

“We are moving Denny Lord to inside linebacker position. My two outside guys right now are Matt Bianchino and Trokon Buesmaill. My other inside guys are Jake Fox, Dan Dogba and Cale Kitchenman.”

How’s your secondary look?

“We have two guys back from last year’s team that are three-year starters. They are Devon Brown who returns at corner, and Cole Creighton who returns at safety. Matt Magdelinskas will see playing time in the secondary. Steve Pirritano is another guy doing well for us. D’Andre Pollard could play some corner. Denzel Hughes can play free safety.”

What are you telling your kids this summer?

“The biggest thing we are pushing is to have a very high level of ownership. Instead of renting it we want to own it. We really want a sense of ownership with this team. We want everyone to work together as a team. We have experience back and we have guys that can play.”
