Coaches comments:

How’s your offensive line look?

“We have left tackle Mike Kaminsky returning. He started for us as a sophomore. Christian Kelley is a returning guard, but we moved him to tight end. He is one of our top sprinters on the track team. We are going to use him a lot like Eric Joraskie last year. We have returning Jacob Jones. We may move him to tackle. Lee Amarose will get playing time.”

You have experience coming back at quarterback?

“We have Zach Wasilweski returning at quarterback. Dominic Farronato is his backup. We need to get Dominic on the field somewhere offensively. We started him at safety last year as a freshman. He will get action at wide receiver.”

How do the running backs look this year?

“We don’t have any backs returning this year. We lost Luke Klingerman, Daniel Lesko, Corey Langton and Bobby Beierschmitt. All four of those guys are gone. We have youth at running back this year and we are really looking forward to seeing how they perform. We have a sophomore Kyle Karycki and a junior Blake Panko coming back. Senior Mike Gilger strictly played defense for us last year. He didn’t get use much last year because of the great year Klingerman had. So we have three guys we are real happy with, plus Christian Kelley. We are going to use him like Eric and drop him off in the slot. He may get some touches at back.”

How does your receivers look?

“We are really excited about this group. We did lose two good receivers last season, but we have some really good young kids. They are Juwan Scllins, Jimmy Williams, Joey Dormer, Mike Gilger and Dominic Farronato. We have a young sophomore Gabe Bogutskie we are high on. Our best prospect at receiver is a Junior. His name is Treyvon White. He saw significant action on both sides of the ball last year.”

How does your defensive line look?

“Everybody has graduated. We lost our nose guard and two defensive tackles. This year we are going to a 3-4 defense. We always played a 5-2 defense. The only difference is we are going to use three lineman and four linebackers. At Nose Guard we are looking at Dylan Patrick and Blake Panko. It looks like Mike Kaminsky may have to play two-ways. Lee Amarose will add depth. Joey Dormer will get some looks at Defensive Tackle.”

How do you look at linebacker?

“Last year we were real young at linebacker spot. We are really high about the two linebackers coming back. They are Brett Zosh and Glenn Barwicki. At outside linebacker we have Kyle Karycki, Christian Kelley and Joey Dormer. Joey will be at either defensive tackle or linebacker. Mason Duran and he will be outside linebacker.”

How’s your secondary?

“We have Mike Gilger back and he started for us last year at corner. We have Dominic Farronato back at safety. Treyvon White is back. We have two good prospects battling at the other safety spot. They are Jimmy Williams and Juwan Scllins. Blake Panko could see time at safety.”

“We lost a lot of players from last year. We had a veteran team. This year we are very young and don’t have a lot of experience coming back.”

What do you need to do to be successful this season? “Our young kids have to mature and group up quickly. That is the bottom line. We have talent. We just lack experience.”
