Q & A with Council Rock North head football coach Adam Collachi
How is your off-season going this summer?
It has gone really well. We are happy the way things are coming along. Everything is looking real good for the start of the season.
Who do you have coming back on offense?
We return a lot of experience on the offensive line, several three-year starters. Bobby Bartlett, Curtis Cothran, Brett Ditomasso, Billy Foote and Pat Krimm.
I have Nate Feldman back at tight end.
We have AJ Nielsen back at running back.
There is a battle going on at quarterback. We have Joe Eick, which he is going to be a junior, and we have incoming freshman Brandon McIlwain.
We have John Devine returning at receiver and Brandon Knotts. Josh McWilliams will play receiver too.
Who do you have coming back on defense?
We have our big guy back Curtis Cothran.
Billy Foote and Tyler Callendar on the defensive line.
Pat Krimm will be at middle linebacker and Nate English at outside linebacker.
Eric Burgard is back.
We have John Devine back at safety. I think he is one of the better safeties around the area.
Brandon Knotts is at cornerback.
Who do you have coming back on special teams?
Max Pedinoff returns at kicker and will be our punter going into his second year. He has a big leg.
How is your league this year?
I think our league is one of the premier leagues in Pennsylvania. Year-in and year-out, when you have teams like, Neshaminy, Pennsbury, Council Rock South and Abington it’s going to be tough.
You are talking about some of the premier programs each year.
I think our kids are right there this year. They have been working hard this winter and preparing themselves for this season.
To have a successful season you have to?
I think we have to avoid injuries. The last couple of years, not to make any excuses, we have been plagued by injuries.
We have to be more consistent on offense this year and limit mistakes.
On defense we need to continue doing what we did toward the end of the year. Our defense really stepped up their game. We have a lot of guys coming back.
