Offensive Player of the Week:
Yeboa Cobbold – Lansdale Catholic – MP – Freshman
Cobbold flashed his playmaking ability throughout the Crusaders’ 47-18 dismantling of Cardinal O’Hara this past weekend. On just ten touches Cobbold accumulated 250 all-purpose yards and a pair of touchdowns. He tossed a 13-yard score off of a trick play and later raced 83 yards (3 rushes for 103 yards) from a wildcat position in the Crusaders’ backfield. He returned three punts for 41 yards and added 93 yards on a trio of receptions.
Defensive Player of the Week:
Deshon Dodson – Neumann-Gorreti – DL – Senior
In a complete team effort by the Saints’ defense, it was Dodson that provided the big play early when he scooped-up a fumble and rumbled 17 yards for a Saints’ touchdown. He also added a pair of tackles from his defensive line position with one going for a loss. Dodson’s efforts helped N-G hold Ryan’s offense to just 34 total yards on 32 offensive plays. The Saints won convincingly, 38-0.
Special Teams Player of the Week:
Skyler Sholder – St. Joseph’s Prep – K – Junior
The reliable Sholder has been a weapon for the Hawks all season. In his team’s, 42-0, throttling of upstart Roman Catholic he successfully belted all six of his point-after attempts and added a pair of touchbacks. Additional kickoffs were either hit deep or angled nicely to help prevent a dangerous Cahillite return game from ever posing a threat.
