2nd Annual Chesapeake Bowl set for tonight

South All-Stars won the inaugural contest last year 30-27. The South team was led by Zach Dancel’s 127 total yards and two scores. The North squad was led by Bishop McDevitt quarterback Matt Johnson who threw for three touchdowns passes.

The Chesapeake Bowl is known as “The Civil War” and has high school football players from Maryland, Washington DC, Virginia and West Virginia. The North team is made up of Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware players.

Tonight’s games takes place at South River High School, Edgewater, Maryland at 7:30pm.

The North Coaches are led by Cardinal O’Hara head coach Dan Algeo. His assistant coaches are Mark Schmidt (Neshaminy), Joe Repshis (Abington Heights), Mark Evans (ELCO), Brian Fluck (West Catholic), Mike Booth (Gateway), Paul Strus (Cardinal O’Hara) and Mike Demarteleire (Lansdale Catholic).

Pennsylvania leads the way with 46 of the 54 players listed on the roster.
