Offensive Player of the Week:

-Keon Powell – O’Hara – RB – Sr.

Powell ran with speed and power throughout the Lions’, 34-21, victory over Wayne Hills (NJ). All totaled, Powell accumulated 198 yards on 25 carries, while adding a scoring run. Ten times he provided a rush greater than ten yards. The Lions rushed for 305 yards in the game. A season ago, the Lions’ high-water mark in a single game was just 71 yards and for the season they mustered up just 379 rushing yards. After this performance, things appear to be trending in the right direction for the Lions.

Offensive Honor Roll:

-Semaj Beals – Roman Cath. – Soph.-QB: Beals threw four touchdown passes (9 in the first two games) and 306 yards. His scoring passes went for; 16, 51, 54, & 59.

-Ashdan Roberts – Roman Cath. Jr.-WR: Roberts notched 5 catches for 131 yards and a pair of scores (54 & 49 yards).

Sam Cooper – Con.-Egan – Sr.-RB: Cooper provided two scores (20 & 25 yards) and 64 yards on just 4 carries.

-Jack O’Connor – SJ Prep – Sr.-QB: Filling in for a dinged Samaj Jones, O’Connor was an efficient 9-for-13, 135 yards and 1 passing score. He added a touchdown on a sneak.

Defensive Player of the Week:

-Gavin Pond – Con.-Egan – Sr.-OLB:

Pond made his presence felt often with three TFLs and a sack that amassed 21 yards in losses. He also forced and recovered a fumble that he returned 55 yards to paydirt, as the Eagles frolicked against an overmatched Kensington club.

Defensive Honor Roll:

-Maxwell Roy – SJ Prep – Jr.-DL: Roy made five stops; including a sack and two TFLs (14 yards in losses).

-Jahmir Diabara – Roman – Sr.-DE -DE: Diabara swarmed for two sacks and a TFL (16 yards) amongst his five stops.

-Mykell Ford – Roman – Jr.-DL: Ford collected 2.5 sacks for the second consecutive week. He added another TFL and all totaled registered 22 yards in losses.

-Zion Knox – O’Hara – Sr.-DE: Knox was busy as witnessed by his 14 tackles; including a sack and TFL.

Special Teams Player of the Week:

-Gavin Wray – Arch. Carroll – Sr. – K/P

Wray’s strong leg helped the Patriots secure their first victory in 22 games. This dated back to the Covid-shortened 2020 campaign when they bested New Hope Solebury in a D-1/12 Subregional playoff. Wray belted a 35-yard field goal to give the Pats some breathing room in the second half. He also blasted two touchbacks on kickoffs.

Multi-Purpose Player of the Week:

-Jah Jah Boyd – Roman Cath. – Sr. – WR/KR/DB

Over the first two weeks of the season, Boyd has displayed an ability to impact a game in all three phases. In Roman’s, 28-14, win over Lincoln he had his fingerprints all over this contest. Offensively, he made four grabs for 61 yards (51-yard TD). Defensively, he secured a pick and made 4 tackles (TFL). In the return game, he added 71 yards on 4 punt returns. Boyd’s playmaking ability is an asset the Cahillites will certainly covet.

Spectacular in Defeat:

-Darren Jackson – Lansdale Cath. – Soph. – DE/WR

Jackson was a bright spot for the Crusaders in their 28-7 defeat to Springside Chestnut Hill this past Saturday at the shore. Defensively, Jackson was active with 11 stops (7 solo tackles; sack). He also turned one of his four receptions into LC’s only touchdown of the game
