The Pennridge Rams will travel to Garnet Valley on Friday night to try and upset the Jaguars. The Pennridge Rams finished the regular season with a record of 6 wins and 4 losses. The Garnet Valley Jaguars stayed undefeated going 10-0 in the regular season. Now for both teams, it’s the time of the year where every game counts.
Three of four Pennridge's losses have come at the hands of Northeast Catholic, Souderton, and Central Bucks East all within three weeks. The Rams' fourth lost was their season finale against North Penn by a score of 42-21. The Rams biggest win of the year came on opening night against Archbishop Wood as they won by one point, 43-42.
Senior quarterback Brad Herrmann has thrown for seven touchdowns but he has also thrown for 11 interceptions, which may hurt the Rams against the Jaguars' defense. Herrmann can rush the ball too. He has rushed for six more touchdowns than he has thrown (13). Receiving wise, six different wide
receivers have one or more touchdowns. The ball has been passed evenly in the end zone.
The Garnet Valley Jaguars have not lost a game all year. Their biggest win came last week after winning the Central League title against Ridley. The Jaguars won by a 13 point margin, 41-28.
The Jaguars running game has been their biggest threat all year long. Tim Keyser is just 20 yards away from the 1000 rushing yard mark and Jared Bonacquisti has rushed for over 800 yards. Keyser and Bonacquisti have scored 29 total touchdowns in just ten games. Senior quarterback Mark McHugh has thrown eight touchdown passes and only three interceptions. One of McHugh’s biggest targets has been Paul Dunn as he has three touchdown receptions and almost 300 yards receiving.
Both teams will keep the ball on the ground and try to wear down their opponent. The team to win this game will either play Penncrest or Pennsbury. Will the Rams upset the Jaguars? Will Garnet Valley win and continue their quest to Hershey? Find out at Moe DeFrank stadium when the Jaguars and Rams
kickoff at 7pm on Friday night.
