Offensive Player of the Week:
-Noel Campbell (Bonner-pren. – Soph. – QB): Campbell unleashed his second consecutive strong performance with a 9-for-11, 218 yards and four touchdown showing. Campbell has completed nearly 69% of passes and has seven touchdown in the Friars’ first two games.
Offensive Honor Roll:
-Joey O’Brien (LaSalle – Jr. – WR): Hauled in ten passes for 135 yards and a score.
-Gavin Sidwar (LaSalle – Jr. – QB): Another solid day for the Rutgers-commit with 3 scoring strikes and 222 yards on a 23-for-32 showing.
–Isaiah West (SJ Prep – Sr. RB): Had seven carries for 73 yards; with four of the lugs going for touchdowns.
-Jeremiah Coleman (Bonner-Pren. – Sr. – WR): Made three catches for 139 yards; including two of 76 & 52 yards going for scores.
-John Welde (O’Hara – Jr. – QB): Welde accounted for all three of O’Hara’s scores with TD passes. He finished 13-24 with 232 yards. Welde eclipsed the 3,000 yards mark in the game and is trekking towards becoming O’Hara’s all-time leading passer later in the season.
Defensive Player of the Week:
-John Brown (O’Hara – Sr. – ILB): Brown has been on quite the roll to start the season, as he has already reached forty total tackles. In the Lions hard-fought, 18-13, win over Ryan, he once again managed double-digit stops with 11. He also notched his first interception of the year.
Defensive Honor Roll:
-Jemel Williams (LaSalle – Jr. – DL): Williams was impactful with 8 tackles that included a sack for the Explorers.
-Gavin Muller (LaSalle – Sr. DE): Muller contributed 1.5 sacks and two other TFLS amongst his six total stops in LaSalle’s road win over Calvert Hall (MD).
-Brett Johnson (Bonner-Pren. – Jr. – ILB): The gritty backer paced the Friars’ defense with a team-high Seven tackles, including three for losses.
Special Teams Player of the Week:
-Abdul Kanu (West Cath. – Sr. – KR): Kanu got the Burrs off and running in their, 20-to-8, victory over ML King when he took the opening kickoff 83 yards for a score. He later added a tackle on special teams.
Multi-Purpose Player of the Week:
-Wydeek Collier (Neum.-Gor. – Jr. – WR/OLB): The rangy Collier showed much ability on both sides of the ball in the Saints loss to Tollentine (NY) on Saturday. Defensively, he made 3 tackles, including a pair of sacks that went for 19 yards in losses. On offense, he snagged three passes for 56 yards and a touchdown.
Spectacular in Defeat:
-Derrick Kennedy (Father Judge – Sr. – RB): In the Crusaders, 49-26, defeat to Germantown Academy, Kennedy once again acquitted himself well. He turned 15 totes into 191 yards rushing. Twice he found the end zone on runs of 56 and 62 yards.
