Offensive Player of the Week:
-Yasin Lowry (Wood – Sr. – RB): Lowry rumbled for three touchdowns including one in the fourth quarter that allowed the Vikings to pick-up their first win of the season. All-totaled, he amassed 167 yards on 19 carries.
Offensive Honor Roll:
-Semaj Beals (Roman – Jr. – QB): In a hard-fought victory over a tough Malvern squad, Beals passed for 262 yards with 3 touchdowns on a 24-for-42 showing.
-John Welde (O’Hara – Jr. – QB): Welde passed 10-for-12 for 141 yards and a pair of scores in the Lions rout of Chichester.
-Derrick Kennedy (Judge – Sr. – RB): Kennedy continued to roll for the Crusaders with 121 yards on 22 totes.
-Desmond Ortiz (LaSalle – Jr. – RB): Ortiz had his best day of the young season with a 94-yard, two-touchdown rushing effort in LaSalle’s impressive win over Haverford School.
Defensive Player of the Week:
-James Webb (Lansdale Cath. – Jr. – DB): Webb neatly stepped in front of a Conwell-Egan pass and returned it 49 yards in what proven to be a the game-winning score. He added a tackle and a pass defend in the Crusaders key win over the Eagles.
Defensive Honor Roll:
-Lazyarus Toombs (Roman – Sr. – DE): Toombs hustled for ten tackles (2 TFLs) in the Cahillites exciting victory over Malvern.
-Braeden Smith (Lansdale Cath. – Jr. – LB): Managed ten stops (2 TFLs) in the Crusaders key road win over Conwell-Egan.
-John Fogarino (Judge – Jr. – OLB): Spearheaded the Judge defensive unit to the tone of 9 tackles; including 4 TFLS.
–Mekhi Bartlett (Judge – Jr. – DE): Bartlett provided a key play in Judge’s win over West Philly, as he forced and recovered a fumble on a sack and returned it 55 yards for a touchdown.
–Kevon Griffin (Wood – Sr. – DE): Griffin was seemingly everywhere in the Vikings win over Carroll, as he racked-up 12 total tackles.
-David Diehl (Wood – Sr. – S): Diehl notched a pair of interceptions in Wood’s win over Carroll. He returned both for a total of 63 yards.
Special Teams Player of the Week:
-Gavin McCain (O’Hara – Jr. – K/P): McCain put forth a wonderful performance in the Lions’ shellacking of Chichester. He boomed all seven of his PAT attempts, nailed a 36-yard field goal, added 4 touchbacks, and punted once for 40 yards.
Multi-Purpose Player of the Week:
-Christon Mitchell-Brown (Ryan – Sr. RB/LB): CMB was a force on both sides of the ball for Ryan, as witnessed by his 97 yards of rushing/receiving and two rushing TDs. Defensively, he had a team-high 8 tackles; including four for losses.
Spectacular in Defeat:
-Jay Boyd (Carroll – Soph. QB): Boyd battled all afternoon and finished with a 17-for-25 and 261 passing yards performance. He threw for one touchdown and ran for another.
