NORTHAMPTON – Billy Stuhldreher rushed for three touchdowns in the first half to lead the Konkrete Kids to a 42-6 win over Pocono Mountian West Thursday night at Al Erdosy Stadium. It was the Northampton running attack that was the key to victory. They out gained the Panthers 287 to -9.

“I thought we played good and we got to play a lot of kids tonight,” said Northampton Head Coach John Toman. “It was important for us to control the line of scrimmage and we did that tonight.”

On Northampton’s first two drives of the night, it was Stuhldreher who ended each drive with a touchdown run. He had touchdown runs of one and ten yards and with 4:09 left in the first quarter the Konkrete Kids led 14-0.

The only blemish of the night for Northampton was an interception by the Panthers’ Brady Behr. He picked off Aiden Hess’ pass and ran it back to Northampton’s five yard line. One play later, quarterback Jerel Sims scored on a keeper. The PAT attempt was blocked and it was 14-6 Northampton with 1:52 remaining in the first quarter.

Northampton never looked back. Hess’ six-yard touchdown run and Stuhldreher’s third touchdown rush of the half (five yards) made it 28-6 heading into halftime.

“Big shot out to my line tonight,” said Billy Stuhldreher. “They did their job blocking and created big holes for me to run through.”

The Konkrete Kids didn’t waste any time getting on the scoreboard in the second half. It took just 15 seconds for Hess to take the kickoff and go 63 yards for the score.

The only other score in the second half was a Zeke Spencer 63-yard run.

Stuhldreher finished the night rushing for 105 yards and Spencer added 92 yards.

With the win, the Konkrete Kids moved to 4-2 overall and will hit the road to take on Easton next Friday night. The Panther (1-5) will try and bounce back on the road for a short trip to Stroudsburg.

Special tribute:

The Northampton coaching staff wore T-shirts on Thursday night to honor the late Kim Davis. He was the school’s longtime public address announcer who passed away recently.

The shirt said on the front, “Ride, Boldly, Ride”.
