District 11 Notes (Week 5):

RUNNINGBACKS: 

Junior Niko Carestia of Schuylkill Haven rushed for 277 yards and a school tying record 7 td’s in their win over Minersville. Zach Barket scored 7 td’s vs North Schuylkill in 2008 and Kobe Brish scored 7 td’s vs Minersville in 2017 and again in 2019. Barket holds the school’s rushing yardage record when he ran for 413 yards in that North Schuylkill game. Carestia leads the District with his 983 yards rushing and his 18 td’s scored. He also joins the “40 td” club with his 43 career td’s. In the same game, Minersville’s Dante Carr rushed for 143 yards, scored 4 td’s, threw for 403 yards, and threw 3 td passes. Scott Schwalm holds the Minersville school record for passing yards in a game when he threw for 492 yards vs Schuylkill Valley in 2019. Carr has scored 13 td’s and passed for another 14 td’s so far this season. He went over 1,000 yards passing for the season (1,111 yards) and also joined the “40 td” club with his 42 career td passes. Sean Steckert of Southern Lehigh rushed for 226 yards and scored 4 td’s in their win over Pottsville. In the same game JuJu Bainbridge of Pottsville rushed for 205 yards and 2 td’s. Samuel Spolski of Nativity hit the 30 career td total in week 5.

QUARTERBACKS:

Ben Kreitzer of Nativity went over 3,000 yards passing for his career in week 5. Kreitzer has thrown for 3,109 yards and 28 td passes in his career. Matt Bodnar of Notre Dame had his 5th 200 yard passing game (249) last week and leads the District this season with 1,764 yards passing and 18 td passes. Bodnar also went over 2,000 yards passing for his career (2,137). Chase Walker of Freedom had his 4th 200 yard passing game when he threw for 208 yards and 2 td’s in their win over Allen. Walker went over 1,000 yards passing (1,034) for the season in the game. Colton Sams of Southern Lehigh threw for 235 yards and 2 td’s vs Pottsville to go over 1,000 yards passing for the season (1,070). Caden Mengel of North Schuylkill (231 yards), and Brady Shomper of Williams Valley (225 yards) also threw for over 200 yards in week 5.

RECEIVERS:

Jack Robertson of Saucon Valley broke his third career school record this year in week 5. Robertson has 1,489 career reception yards which breaks the old school record of 1,428 yards that Tyler Csencsits had from 2018-21. Justin Yescavage of Jim Thorpe caught 10 passes vs North Schuylkill to up his season total to 25.  He also joined the “100 catch” club with his 102 career receptions which is now a school record. Josh Hontz held the old record when he caught 101 passes from 2005-07. Andrew Olesh of Southern Lehigh also joins the “100 catch” club. Olesh has exactly 100 career catches. Xzavier Pusateri of ES South leads the District with his 30 receptions after catching another 6 passes in week 5 (3rd week in a row). Kian Krzyzanowski of Williams Valley moves up to second place with 27 catches and also went over 1,000 yards receiving for his career (1,080). Ethan Dudsak of Stroudsburg drops a spot to third with his 26 receptions. Pusateri and Krzyzanowski are one/two in yardage with 567 and 521 yards respectively. Kamari Coleman of Stroudsburg caught 5 passes vs PM East with 3 going for td’s. Coleman has 6 td receptions this season. Manny Bolmer of Catasauqua leads the District with 8 td catches, followed by Krzyzanowski’s 7 td grabs (20 career td catches). I’m catching up with some more players going on the chart. I found Shacre Colwell of Freedom is way up on the list with 943 receiving yards, and Brady Behr of PM West has 805 career receiving yards. Victor Schlosser of Tamaqua enters the chart as he has 576 career receiving yards after his big 147 yard game in week 5. Bolmer also gets on the chart with his 503 career yards. Paiten Lapoint and Logan Hutsko of Minersville both had over 140 yard receiving in the Schuylkill Haven game. Lapoint caught 7 passes for 166 yards and 2 td’s, while Hutsko caught 7 passes for 145 yards and a td. 

Noah Dolbin of Nativity career receiving total watch:

121 receptions – tied for 31st place all-time in the District with Matt Salvaterra of Emmaus (1996-98)

2,330 yards – 13th place all-time in the District (12th place occupied by Jeff McGeehin of Central Cathlolic) 2,377 yards from 1971-73
