District 11 Top Returning Players Week 7

RUNNINGBACKS: 

Charles Capers of ES South rushed for 247 yards and 3 td’s in their win over PM East in week 7. Capers became the 2nd back in the District this season to go over 1,000 yards rushing (1,004 yards). Niko Carestia of Schuylkill Haven extended his District lead when he rushed for 255 yards and a td in their win over Marian Catholic. Carestia has rushed for 1,571 yards and scored 22 td’s this season. He has exactly 3,500 career rushing yards to go along with his 47 career td’s. Luke Miller of North Schuylkill rushed for 235 yards and scored 5 td’s in their win over Bangor. His 5 td’s ties the school single game record that is held by Ethan Motsney (vs Jim Thorpe in 2012) and John Rupinski (vs Marian Catholic in 2014). Miller has rushed for 880 yards and scored 18 td’s this season. Marquez Wimberly of Nazareth scored 4 td’s in their week 7 win over Liberty. The 4 td’s gave him 10 on the season and 30 for career. Jameson Trainer of Palmerton rushed for over 200 yards for the 2nd consecutive week. Trainer rushed for 268 yards and scored 3 td’s while also throwing for 135 yards and 2 td passes in their win over Palisades. Qb, Cole Lazorick of Jim Thorpe went over the 1,000 yard career rushing mark last week (1,068). Also joining the chart after week 7 are William Day of Easton (1,078 yards), Caiden Faust of Pen Argyl (1,061 yards), and Sean Steckert of Southern Lehigh (1,014 yards).

QUARTERBACKS:

Ivan Laubach of ES South threw for 245 yards and 5 td’s vs PM East. Laubach went over 2,000 yards passing in his career (2,104) and has thrown 23 career td passes. His 5 td passes is 1 short of the school record. Jake Cirillo threw 6 td passes vs Allen in 2016, and Will Fish threw 6 td passes vs Stroudsburg in 2020. Matt Bodnar of Notre Dame threw for 446 yards and 5 td’s in their win over Pen Argyl. Bonar’s District leading totals have him throwing for 2,615 yards and 27 td passes. Cole Lazorick of Jim Thorpe threw for 205 yards and 4 td’s in their win over Catasauqua. Lazorick went over 1,000 yards passing for the season (1,170) and over 3,000 yards passing for his career (3,077). Colton Sams of Southern Lehigh threw for 201 yards and 3 td’s in their win over Tamaqua. The sophomore went over 2,000 yards passing for his career (2,093). Peyton Falzone of Nazareth and Brady Shomper of Williams Valley each threw for 224 yards in week 7. Falzone threw 1 td pass to reach 30 for his career and Shomper threw 4 td’s to to give him 17 on the season (2nd highest behind Bodnar) and also reached 1,000 yards passing for the season (1,178). Sophomore Jackson Mitchell of Stroudsburg threw for 218 yards and 4 td passes in their win over PM West. Mitchell is now on the chart with 1,102 career passing yards. Gavin Taff of Northampton also went over 2,000 yards passing for his career in a loss to Easton. The junior has thrown for 2,111 career yards. Ben Kreitzer of Nativity went over 1,000 yards passing on the season (1,092) in week 7 and also reached the 30 td mark (31) with his 3 td passes vs Mahanoy Area. Antonio Fontanez of Liberty went over 1,000 yards passing on the season (1,027).

RECEIVERS:

Ethan Dudsak of Stroudsburg caught 13 passes for 111 yards and a td vs PM West in week 7. The 13 catches is a new school breaking the old record that Tom Perry held when he caught 12 passes vs Pleasant Valley in 1987. Dudsak leap frogs everybody and leads the District with his 43 receptions. Justin Yescavage of Jim Thorpe broke the career reception yardage record in week 7. Yescavage has 1,891 career receiving yards on his already school record 116 receptions. Don Evans held the old record when he had 1,815 receiving yards from 1999-2001. Yescavage has 39 receptions this season which is 2nd behind Dudsak’s 43. Kian Krzyzanowski of Williams Valley is tied for 2nd with Yescavage with his 39 catches and is the District 11 leader with 11 td catches. Victor Schlosser of Tamaqua caught 9 passes vs Southern Lehigh and has 38 on the season. Xzavier Pusateri of ES South caught 5 passes for 171 yards and 4 td’s vs PM East. John Murphy holds the school record for td catches in a game with 5 that he caught vs Allen in 2016. Pusateri has caught 37 passes this season for a District leading 760 yards and has 10 td grabs. Krzyzanowski is a close second with 714 yards. Carmine Diaz of Notre Dame has 9 td grabs this season (37 catches for 678 yards). Alex Clark caught 3 passes for 163 yards and 2 td’s in their game vs Pen Argyl. Two sophomores joined the chart this week. Lincoln Cook of Palisades has 534 receiving yards (41 catches), and Chris Frame of Northern Lehigh has 519 yards (24 catches). Logan Hutsko of Minersville broke the career reception td record in week 7 with his 2 td’s vs Pine Grove. Hutsko, now has 17 career td receptions which is 1 more than Gabe Davis (2019-2020) and Jared Graeff (2018-21) had in their careers.   

Will Buck of Emmaus kicked a 44 yard FG in their win over Whitehall. The school record is held by Mike Wascura who kicked a 49 yarder vs Bethlehem Catholic in 1999.

Noah Dolbin of Nativity career receiving total watch:

130 receptions – tied for 22nd place all-time in the District with Ryan Greene of Catasauqua (2014-16) and Nick Ryan of Shenandoah Valley (2021-23). Dolbin moved ahead of Chad Parton of Salisbury (127 catches from 2018-20), Corey Raysely of Catasauqua (129 catches from 2015-17), and Adam Thomas of Wilson (129 catches from 2004-06)

2,614 yards – 10th place all-time in the District (9th place occupied by Matt Camilletti of Pius X) 2,642 yards from 2008-11 Leap frogged over Paryss Marshall of Catasauqua (2,541 yards from 2011-13), Damian Tyminski of Pen Argyl (2,556 yards from 2021-23), and Kowan Scott of Wilson (2,602 yards from 2008-10).
