It’s hard to believe we are at the midway point. The playoff picture is starting to get a little clearer. Here are some teams to keep an eye on for the final five games of the regular season.

AAAA

There are two teams leading the way at the midway point. The last time District two had a team make a run in the District 2/4/11 AAAA subregional was Hazleton Area in 2007. They were led by running back Nate Eachus who shredded Easton, stunned Liberty, and gave state runner-up Parkland a run for its money. This year District two has two heavy weight contenders to challenge District 11.

One team is Delaware Valley who is led by Senior quarterback Bryan Schor. He has completed 62 of 96 for 1,141 yards and 11 touchdowns. Joe Santiago is their leading rusher with 430 yards on 68 carries and five touchdowns. Schor’s main target at receiver is Lucas Markowitz. The Warriors are already 1-0 against District 11 teams, defeating Parkland week one.

Scranton’s offense is averaging 42 points a game. Scranton has speed and more speed. They are led by the big three on offense. Quarterback Marlinn Waiters has passed for 648 yards and seven touchdowns. His main target for speed is Karlon Quiller who has caught 15 passes for 384 yards and five scores. The running game is led by sophomore running back Jake McCarthy. He has rushed for 798 yards on 89 carries and 15 touchdowns.

Before these two teams can battle a District 11 opponent, they have a date set for October 19th to settle who is king in District two AAAA this year.
