Pine Grove’s Ryan Heim rushed for 297 yards and 2 td’s in a 21-13 win over Upper Dauphin last week to keep the Cardinals unbeaten at 4-0. Heim’s 297 yards falls short of the school record of 336 yards held by Nick Frantz. Frantz, who had three 1,500 yard plus rushing seasons (2001-03) set the record against Upper Dauphin in 2002. Heim joins the chart with his 731 yards rushing this year and 1,944 yards for his career.
Catasauqua senior, Ra’Von Burton rushed for 221 yards and 3 td’s vs Salisbury to up his season totals to 702 yards rushing and 10 td’s. Burton now needs 75 yards to enter the “3,000 yard” club for his career. Jordan Gray of Nazareth has 2,952 career rushing yards and needs 48 yards to also join the club.
Cole Barnhardt of Williams Valley now has 30 career td’s.

Luke Hohenstein of Pocono Mountain East threw for 253 yards in his first varsity start to break the school record. Hohenstein along with Justin Bullock’s 3 td’s led the Cardinals past previously unbeaten Quakertown 49-28. Matt Delgiudice held the old record when he threw for 240 yards in a game in 1997. Brandon Leap of Pleasant Valley is now in the top 100 for District 11 career passing yards. NOTE: Sedesse is 9th with his yardage and 4th in td passes in the State.

THE PRESENT AND THE PAST: Congratulations to Bloomsburg’s Franklin Quiteh for breaking the PSAC career rushing record 2 weeks ago. Quiteh, formally of Pocono Mountain West, is now in 15th place all-time for Division 2 runningbacks with 5,911 yards. The PSAC record was previously held by former Huskie and Neshaminy high school’s Jamar Brittingham.
