central_bucks_westThe annual rivalry game between Central Bucks East was one to remember for Senior Quarterback John Fitz, who went 16 of 23 for 310 yards and four touchdowns with no interceptions last Friday night.

Last year Cody Riemenschneider set the single-game passing record throwing for 300-yards against Quakertown. “He was the first quarterback in CB West history to pass for over 300-yards,” said head football coach Brian Hensel. “Part of that was the type of offense we ran.”

Fitz 310 yard performance Friday night set the school record for passing yards in a game.

So far this season, Fitz has completed 55 of 113 passes for 830 yards and nine touchdowns. He has rushed for 419 yards on 77 carries and four touchdowns. “He’s doing it both ways, with his arm and legs.”

“He is a quiet leader and leads by example on the field. He has really blossomed his senior year. If I can say one thing about John is that he can throw a 70-yard touchdown pass or throw a interception and he comes off the field exactly the same way.”

Fitz is a two-sport athlete. He plays baseball for the Bucks. He has verbally committed to play baseball at Lehigh University.

“He’s a real good athlete. Last year he played defensive end for us.”

After a week 1 loss to Upper Dublin, CB West has ripped off five straight wins. “We have a lot of weapons on the offensive side of the ball.”
