Any time you meet up with a George Curry-coached football team, you know you’re going to be in for a battle. The all-time winningest coach in Pennsylvania history loses workhorse Matt Kolojechick and his over 2,000 rushing yards, but there always seems to be another capable running back in the fold. Will Curry be able to find a passing quarterback to make the running game that much more effective? And, will the Spartans continue progressing in the win column – 2006 saw nine victories; 2007 saw 10. How about a cool 11 in 2008?

well..in the district 2…evry team besides hazleton is cupcake…so our schedule is going to be cupcake…lol..wow..think man…and..abington…smabington…if coach petrone..plays my lil brother..rite..DONALD POLLITT..a.k.a..best athlete in the district 2..track and field..man BEST ATHLETE IN DISTRICT 2..SINCE ME AND JOEY ALMEIDA…THAN ABINGTON WILL BE NOTHIN…and like frank said..WVW..will never beat..US..Hazleton..they’re too country..or i don’t know..they’re not jus gooin to beat hazleton…
we’ll see this year about the spartans. i don’t disagree with their ranking. they just better play like they belong there. and who’s to say curry is past his prime? and you should be dropping legends name like paterno and bowden into a HS football discussion, that is just plain wrong. i don’t think WVW schedule is a cupcake schedule. why don’t you take a look at hazelton’s schedule then tell who is eating cupcakes this year???
Well Hazleton can have all the talent in the world but no expierence will kill them in the first game against Abington Heights.
If their QB, line, and secondary are that much better, why didn’t they play in place of those players last year?
they will never beat hazleton. in my opion hazleton is stronger this year then last. they lost eachus i know but the back they have is very very good. they lost kost but the Qb this year is MUCH MUCH better. better 2ndary and line. the only spot they are weaker at is LB
Curry was hired to win games in December and that is what will define his WVW legacy. 11 wins is do able with that cupcake schedule.
if hazleton isnt higher than these guys on the list its a crime. they beat 2 d-11 teams and gave parkland the scare of there life. Plus beat WVW at there home field.
You need to calm down Hazelton is higher on the list and if there not that’s a shame. Curry is also no longer in his prime (EX Bowden and Paterno)but he is still a coach and better then Petrone no question. Pittston Areas returns to playoffs this year.
Give me a break! No way should valley west be ranked at all. They will lose 2,3 maybe 4 games this year. Also everyone seems to forget about Hazleton Area. I dont know much about them but Curry can’t beat Petrone. D2AAAA Champs-Hazleton Area, not valley west. No Doubt!
No way WVW get’s 11 wins with the schedule they have.I could see 2 losses in the first 4 games.
