Bishop McDevitt
Matt Johnson led Bishop McDevitt (2-0) to a big win over Cedar Cliff 49-7.
Johnson threw for 230 yards and four touchdowns. He rushed for two more scores. Three of his touchdown passes went to Salath Williams.
Bishop McDevitt outgained Cedar Cliff 422-80 in total yards.
Bishop McDevitt host Central Dauphin East next Saturday morning.
Steelton-Highspire
Steelton-Highspire rallied in the fourth quarter to edge Milton Hershey 19-18. Max Ward’s 18-yard touchdown pass to Jermell Fleming Jr. with 4:18 to go gave Steel-High the win over Milton Hershey.
Fleming’s touchdown catch gave Steel-High the 19-16 lead. With 36 seconds left in the game Flemings took an intentional safety as a punter.
Running back Clayton McNair finished the game with 99 yards rushing and a touchdown.
With the win head coach Rob Deibler gets his 100th win as a coach.
Steelton-Highspire (1-1) hosts Palmyra next week.
Manheim Central
There are a few games each year that are labeled classics. This year’s chapter of Manheim Central vs. Wilson West Lawn was.
Manheim Central was up 26-7 before Wilson ran off 20 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to take the lead 27-26. Barons’ kicker Taylor Groff drilled a 26-yard field goal with 3:39 to play in the game. Barons’ would go on to the 29-27 win.
Wilson kicker Shane Witmyer’s 42-yard field goal attempt with eight seconds remaining had the distance but missed to the left, Manheim Central hung on for the 29-27 victory over Wilson West Lawn.
Quarterback Justin Gorman finished the game with 177 yards passing on 15 of 25 passes.
Manheim Central’s (2-0) season doesn’t get any easier. They travel to play Lancaster Catholic (2-0) next week.
Palmyra
Palmyra’s touchdown runs by Zach Stuart and Dominic Faiola in the third quarter lead Palmyra over Boiling Springs 28-14.
Running backs Zach Stuart, Preston Bare and Dominic Faiola combined for 126 yards rushing.
Quarterback Billy Beecher completed eight of 15 passes for 121 yards.
Palmyra travels to play East Pennsboro next week.
Susquehanna Township
Susquehanna Township used big plays to get the win over Red Land 40-14.
Quarterback Ben Dupree led his team with 127 yards rushing on 15 carries. His team rushed for 330 yards on the ground.
Robert Terrell rushed for 76 yards on three carries including a 44-yard touchdown run.
Susquehanna Township travels to Mechanicsburg next week.
