2015 Outlook: Please let us know the keys about your team on offense, defense and special teams. What are your keys to having a successful year?
To have a successful year we have to be more disciplined in every aspect of the game. We committed too many penalties and turnovers last year, often at critical times in close games.
With such a small school, our numbers will be an issue and many guys will have to play both ways. They have worked hard in the weight room to get ready for the demands of the season.
Depth along the line is our biggest area of concern heading into the season. Hopefully we can get some more guys to help along both sides of the ball on the line.
Hopefully we can continue to rebuild and grow our program. We are all excited to see how our season goes!
Offense: On offense we will need to protect the ball and stay out of 3rd and long situations. We need to find balance in the run game and the pass game and be more aggressive along the line.
There are some position battles going into camp, mainly at the quarterback position and it will be interesting to see how it all plays out.
Defense: Defensively we really feel good about our back 7. We cleaned up a lot of areas of confusion over the offseason and moved some guys into positions they are better suited to play.
We changed our offensive and defensive systems and tried to simplify everything as much as possible for our guys and let their natural abilities take over.
Special Team: On special teams we have some holes to fill. Our kicker graduated and our punter transferred out of the district so those are two jobs that are up for grabs.
There are a couple early favorites but whoever steps up during camp will win the job. We would like to have one person handle both duties.
