We decided not to pick one player as our player of the week. There were too many outstanding performances last week. So with that being said, let’s start with two players that put up big numbers and were our top All-Purpose yard leaders.
Whitehall’s quarterback Giannni Sinatore had 444 yards total offense against Emmaus last week. He threw for 369 yards, rushed for 75 and had three touchdowns. Council Rock North’s All-Everything Quarterback Brandon McIlwain had 430 yards of total offense. He threw for 221 and rushed for 209. He had five touchdowns in the upset win over previously unbeaten Quakertown.
Norristown’s Desmond Gorski was our top passer of the week. He passed for 424 yards and seven touchdowns against Council Rock South.
I can’t remember so many school records being set in one week and that is what we have with some of our top rushers for the week. Let’s start with Mount Carmel’s Kyle Karycki. He rushed for a school record 398 yards in a 60-30 win over Central Columbia.
Here are three more players that set single-game rushing records. Bethlehem Liberty’s Gunner Anglovich rushed for 391 yards and seven touchdowns in a 75-54 win over Central Catholic. Emmaus’ Kyle Boney rushed for 377 yards in a 32-27 win over Whitehall. Upper Darby’s Isaiah Bruce rushed for 322 yards in a 49-0 win over Lower Merion.
One of our two top receivers of the week is Allentown Central Catholic’s Dallas Kassis. He had 177 yards receiving last week. Bishop McDevitt’s Kobay White is the second. He had 170 yards.
Gorski, Anglovich and Karycki all had seven total touchdowns last week. Also on that list is Lake-Lehman’s Nick Eury. Nick had six rushing touchdowns and one receiving last week in a 56-26 win over Hanover Area.
