Strengths for 2016: Several returning wide receivers and secondary personnel highlight a bright spot for a team that lost 20 seniors from 2015. Multiple-year starters Curtis Robison (qb/lb), Kyle Goss (ol/dl), and kicker Aiden Alves highlight the returning group. Returning starters Austin Wenger along with Jared Sutch return to the offensive line. Receivers Joey Razzano, Dylan Baxter, and John Kearney return as receivers and defensive backs for 2016. Kicker Aiden Alves also returns for his 4th season as kicker.
Weaknesses for 2016: Several questions need to be answered on the offensive and defensive lines as well as major losses in the backfield and linebacker positions. Graduation of 20 seniors from last year’s very successful squad will create some large shoes to fill.
Coaches Outlook: There exist many question marks among the senior class. We are hoping that this class will develop the kind of leadership quality that they have enjoyed in their junior years. Coming off our first district appearance in a long time should be a source of motivation for this group to continue the winning tradition in the past and revisited last season.
We are trying to find ways to motivate players to put more dedication into the program. Continuing to develop a strong running game is another main concern. Through a change in our summer workouts and attending a team camp at Lebanon Valley, we hope to develop positive team unity. The emergence of several underclassmen is seen as a positive. We will continue to try to develop model citizens as well as good football players through the use of stricter team policies and practices. Overall, the coaches are excited about this group of returning players in addition to the younger players, and are looking forward to 2016.
