2016 Offensive outlook: (Please let us know the keys about your team on offense. What are your keys to having a successful year?)
This year we must replace the school’s all-time leading rusher in Juvon Batts. Right now there are several players battling for RB duties. The offense will be led by 2 year starter, junior Logan Leiby. While he lost his top two targets in Colin Hoke and Nick Swineford, Logan will still have a great crew of WR to throw to. At TE Junior Connor VanZijl has returned after not playing last year. He will provide anther solid option in the passing game. Up front we return two starters from last year. This is a group that needs to gel quickly to allow the running game to develop and to provide Logan time to pass the ball.
2016 Defensive Outlook: (Please let us know the keys about your team on defense. What are your keys to having a successful year?)
The defense was hit hard by graduation. Only two starters return from last years team, Tony Dressler and Garrett Campbell. There is outstanding competition so far on the defensive side. The kids are doing an outstanding job of learning the system. The pressure is certainly on with preseason being shortened by a week this year.
2016 Special Teams Outlook: (Please let us know the keys about your team on special teams. What are your keys to having a successful year?)
Just like offense and defense the special teams were hit hard. We are looking to replace all-league kicker Joe Radel. Joe also served as our punter along with fellow graduate Ethan Trautman.
