Wallenpaupack
With the 35-11 win over Delaware Valley, Wallenpaupack earns a spot in the District 2-4-11 Class 4A playoffs. This is the first time they made the playoffs.
Running back Joe DeFebo rushed for 300 yards and four touchdowns and he now has 5,308 yards in his career.
DeFebo had touchdown runs of 55, 8, 4 and 67 yards.
Wilkes-Barre GAR
In a game that saw 26 penalties for 244 yards, Wilkes-Barre GAR scored quickly and often to defeat Wilkes-Barre Meyers 42-21.
Darrell Crawford and Kurtis Thomas each ran for two scores and more than 150 yards.
The Grenadiers’ offense rushed for 383 yards and 33 carries.
Hazleton Area
The Cougars rolled to a 28-6 win over Berwick Area. They finished the season with a 7-3 record and qualified for the District 2-4-11 Class 4A playoffs for the fifth straight year. They will host Williamsport Friday night.
Senior Chad Nicholas led the way with 149 total yards, 76 rushing, 33 receiving and 40 passing. He also scored two rushing, caught a touchdown pass and kicked four extra points.
The Cougars’ defense held the Dawgs to 135 total yards.
Old Forge
Old Forge scored on their first four possesions as the Blue Devils rout Susquehanna Community 36-22. With the win the Blue Devils finish the regular season a perfect 10-0.
Quarterback Malkom Blackshear completed 8 of 13 passes for 103 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed for 66 yards on 9 carries.
Brian Morris led the ground attack rushing for 140 yards on 19 carries and two touchdowns.
