In 2016, Shippensburg advanced to the District 3 4A game for the first time and one of the big reasons was wide receiver Cody Gustafson. For the season he had 84 catches for 1583 yards and 15 touchdowns. He was 2-for-2 passing for 97 yards and one touchdown. On defense he had 19 tackles, four interceptions and seven pass break-ups.
“Cody is a really hard worker and leader for the team,” said Head Football Coach Eric Foust. “Cody is a great example for younger players and his ability to go up, locate and catch the ball really sets him apart.”
In his career he caught 170 passes for 2,870 yards and 21 touchdowns.
