Playoff Talk Class AAAA Week 13

Easton Area

This was Easton Area’s third game in eight days. The Red Rovers pulled out the hat trick win by defeating Parkland 21-14 for the District 11 4A championship.

This was the second time the Red Rovers have won three games in eight days. The other time was in 2004.

Quarterback Justin Pacchioli completed 11 of 15 passes for 136 yards and two touchdowns.

Running back Jashaad Gaddy led the way with 66 yards rushing.

Easton Area (13-1) plays LaSalle (11-1).

Running back Jamal Abdur-Rahman led LaSalle over George Washington 31-20 in the District 12 Class 4A championship game.

On defense Abdur-Rahman intercepted a pair of passes. He also returned a fumble 36 yards for a score. On offense he caught a 44-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Drew Loughery.

Loughery completed 13 of 21 passes for 189 yards and three scores.

The Explorers outgained George Washington 359-264.

LaSalle (11-1) plays Easton Area (13-1).

North Penn

Avon Grove was playing in the playoffs for the first time. They were overmatched against North Penn in the District one semifinal game.

North Penn went on to crush Avon Grove 42-7 and will go for their fifth district title since 2002.

Junior running back Craig Needhamer led the way with 155 yards rushing and four touchdowns. He scored on runs of 9, 1, 1 and 1.

Senior quarterback Todd Smolinsky finished with 5 of 7 passes for 97 yards. He had two touchdowns (one passing and one rushing).

North Penn (13-0) plays Ridley (12-1).

Ridley’s swarming defense led to a 28-7 win over Downingtown East in the semifinals of the District 1 Class 4A playoff game.

Junior Shahald Smith scored a pair of touchdowns, one for 11 yards and the other for 6 yards.

Jalen Randolph added the other rushing score with an 18-yard run. Colin Masterson hit Dion Shaw for a five-yard touchdown pass.

Ridley’s defense held Downingtown East to 115 yards of total offense.

Ridley (12-1) plays North Penn (13-0).

    WHAT A PERFORMANCE. North Penn was not up to the Ridley defense tonight. Just another district title win! CONGRATS GREEN!!!

  2. You have to love the underdog role. If we lose, “we were not supposed to win”, but if we win, North Penn will be crying in there rally towels. GO GREEN!!
