Pottsgrove
Running back Maika Polamalu’s 10-yard touchdown run and Zach Robinson’s extra point lifted Pottsgrove over Interboro in overtime 28-21 for the District One Class 3A championship game.
Polamalu rushed for 210 yards. He had touchdown runs of 62, 5 and 10 yards. Fullback Kayvon Greene rushed for 145 yards and added a 95-yard run for a score.
The Falcons’ rushed for a season high 404 yards on the ground.
Pottsgrove (14-0) plays Archbishop Wood (10-2).
Selinsgrove
In the driving wind and snow, Selinsgrove controlled the clock in a 35-3 win over Greater Johnstown in the first round of the PIAA Class 3A game.
With the win the Seals advance to the state quarterfinals for the eighth time in 10 years.
The Seals defense held Greater Johnstown to 120 yards of total offense.
Kyle Reinard rushed for 142 yards on 18 carries. Fullback Matt Wenrich added 86 yards.
Selinsgrove (13-0) plays Allentown Central Catholic (12-1).
Allentown Central Catholic
Sophomore Quarterback Brendan Nosovitch passed for 195 yards and three touchdowns to lead Allentown Central Catholic over Abington Heights 28-14 in the first round of state playoffs.
Nosovitch completed 13 of 23 passes. He also added 55 yards rushing.
Jack Sandherr caught five passes for 117 yards and one score. Shane McNeely and Kevin McKellick each caught a touchdown pass.

I agree there defense is tricky. The teams that usually give them most trouble are ones that spread them out
I don’t know of any team who will figure out Selinsgrove’s defense. Southern Columbia came the closest, and that was on a muddy field.
