2017 Offensive Outlook: With three new QB’s in a new system, we are looking for steady QB play to help keep things moving in the right direction. Tyree Singelton, Cameren Cardwell, and Chad Feggins are helping to hold down the line, but we need some new guys to step up. We are replacing every skill position started from last season, so guys that have been waiting are finally set to get their chance.
We need our boys to stay in their playbooks and get quality reps everyday to learn our system. I feel we will be powerful and explosive on offense if that happens.
2017 Defensive Outlook: We lost most of our starting secondary, as they were seniors, and two key outside Linebackers to transfers, but I am confident in the kids that have been waiting for their chance. Ernest Holland is an excellent MLB who continues to be a dominating force on the field and the leader of our defense. Ernie and Moussa Cisse will continue to lead the linebackers, while newcomers Tre’Quan Gary and Ebenezer Gartei look to and some more speed and power to our defense.
A new secondary will have to prove that they can step up to the challenge, with the loss of Kenney Bennett, Derek Brown, and Tavion Mack. Nick Pham and Jayson Davis are the only returns who have seen significant time in the secondary in the past.
2017 Special Teams Outlook: Graduating our key returner, Tahir Cruse, definitely will have an impact on our return game. Also Rahmeer Johnson was an onside kick specialist for the last two season. His abilities will be sorely missed.
