Philadelphia Catholic League Players of the Week

Week 0 – Aug. 28, 2019

Offensive Player of the Week

Jeron Phillips – Lansdale Catholic – QB – Junior

In his team’s, 44-42, victory over Father Judge, Phillips passed 15-of-19 for 333 yards and three touchdowns. This was Phillips first varsity start at Lansdale Catholic. Last season the Crusaders only passed for 413 yards for the entire season. Phillips’ 333 yards easily shattered the previous high by Pat Duggan (267) in 2012. Lansdale joined the PCL in 2008.

Defensive Player of the Week

Ryan Savage – LaSalle – DE – Senior

Savage helped the Explorers’ limit a usually potent Imhotep club to one offensive touchdown and a total of 120 yards of offense. All total, he collected ten tackles, including a pair of sacks and another TFL. Savage’s second sack ended the Panthers final drive with just over a minute to go and helped preserve a hard-fought, 15-12, win.

Special Teams Player of the Week

Luke Jackson – Conwell-Egan – K/P – Senior

Jackson’s 28-yard field goal early in the fourth quarter broke a 14-14 tie and gave the Eagles the lead for good. Jackson converted all three of his PAT attempts and punted three times for a 33.7 average.
