Offensive Player of the Week

Tysheem Johnson – Neumann-Goretti – RB – Junior

The Saints multi-purpose star was sensational in his team’s 64-to-20 dismantling of Archbishop Carroll this past Saturday night in a key Catholic League Blue contest. Johnson amassed 349 yards of total offense while accounting for six touchdowns. On the ground he scored three times (1, 1, & 65 yards) and rushed for 159 yards on 16 totes. Through the air he caught 6 passes for 151 yards, including a 87-yard scoring strike down the sidelines. For good measure, he was successful on three pass attempts (39 yards) with two of them going for scores (1 & 30 yards).

Defensive Player of the Week

Nasim Rhodes-Nelson – Bonner-Prendie – DE – Junior

The active and athletic Rhodes-Nelson was everywhere during the first half of the Friars convincing victory (46-to-7) over Conwell-Egan. His performance played a big part in helping B-P roll to a 40-to-0 lead at the intermission. All total, Rhodes-Nelson collected 7 tackles (6 solos; sack), one other TFL, and raced for touchdown on a 34-yard return off a fumble.

Special Teams Player of the Week

Malachi Hansen – Archbishop Carroll – KR – Junior

Hansen and his teammates didn’t get the result they had hoped for this past Saturday night versus Neumann-Goretti, but the speedy return man did all he could early to keep his team in the game. Hansen returned five kicks for 148 yards, including a 76-yard touchdown late in the first half. He also added a pair of tackles on special teams.
