The inclusion of these top national athletes and football recruits embodies the very best of the United States Marine Corps, the national sponsor of this inagural game. In late May, the Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl announced that Deontay Greenberry (Washington Union High School; Fresno, CA) and Tee Shepard (Central East High School; Fresno, CA) were the first two commitments to the annual high-school all-star game .

The watchlist is the beginning of the process for this annual competition, which will showcase 100 of the best gridiron high school seniors in the nation in a traditional East-West format game. The inaugural Semper Fidelis All American Bowl will take place in Phoenix, AZ  on January 3, 2012.

The Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl, announced in April in partnership with the United States Marine Corps, was founded by Chicago-area JuniorRank, a company dedicated to the education, evaluation and instruction of America’s next generation of student athletes. “Semper Fidelis” is Latin and means “Always faithful” – serving as the motton of the United States Marine Corps.

“We are thrilled to announce the national watchlist for this January’s inagural Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl,” said Junior Rank founder Shaon Berry, who developed the game with the United States Marine Corps. “The talent on the field in Phoenix will be tremendous and these young athletes personify the teamwork and commitment to excellence of the game’s sponsor, the United States Marine Corps.”

In addition to the Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl partnership, the USMC is a Junior Rank partner for The Proving Ground National Junior Combine and Junior Rank’s national camp and combine circuit.  The Proving Ground National Junior Combine is an invitation only combine featuring 400 of the nation’s top junior athletes.

The Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl will be held in conjunction with Fiesta Bowl Week and the celebration surrounding the BCS bowl game in Arizona. Last year during the bowl celebration week held by Junior Rank in Tempe – which included a successful underclassmen combine and a youth all-star game – all participants were recognized on the field during the ESPN broadcast of the Insight Bowl. A national television contract fitting of this game and the partnership with the United States Marine Corps will be announced in the near future.
