RUNNINGBACKS:
Josh Chowansky of North Schuylkill leads the District with 536 yards rushing. Chowansky went over 2,000 yards (2,269) and has scored 25 career td’s. Matt Frame of Northern Lehigh needs 33 yards to reach 2,000 career yards. His career totals have him with 1,967 yards rushing and 23 td’s scored. Sophomore Austin Achenbach of Williams Valley has rushed for 498 yards and scored 5 td’s this season to move him to 999 career rushing yards. Marcus Williams of Easton scored 6 td’s in their opener vs Pocono Mountain East. Former Rover Shane Simpson holds the school record when he scored 7 td’s vs a Saquan Barkley led Whitehall team in 2014. Hunter Crum of Lehighton scored 6 td’s vs Tamaqua in week 2. That ties the school record with 3 other players. Chris Green was the first when he scored 6 vs PME in 1994. Joe Semenoff scored 6 times vs Whitehall in 2000 and Jacen Nalesnik scored 6 td’s in a game in 2011.
QUARTERBACKS:
Collin Quintano of Notre Dame leads the District with 925 yards passing and 13 td’s Quintano is second in career yardage (3,752) and td passes (39) amongst current players. Quintano threw for 385 in week 2 which was 11 yards short of Cole DeFranco’s school record of 396 yards that he threw vs Bangor in 2017. Cayden Stem of Wilson is the current career leader with his 3,938 yards and 50 td passes. He moves ahead of Ryan Dailey who threw for 3,551 yards from 2009-12 and into 3rd place all-time at Wilson. Stem has thrown for 674 yards and 11 td passes so far this season. Cody Miller of Nativity leads a list of 7 other QB’s that have thrown for 2,000 yards in their career. Miller has thrown for 2,782 yards and has tossed 28 td passes so far. Jake Hall of North Schuylkill and Ty Tremba of Parkland are 2 of these QB’S to reach the 2,000 yard milestone this season. Quinn Wentling of Whitehall is closing in on 3000 yards passing (2,587) and 1,000 yards rushing (913) for his career. Dylan Mahaffey of Saucon Valley is also looking for a 3,000-1,000 yard career. He currently has rushed for 1,454 yards and has thrown for 2,576 yards. Sonny Sasso of Nazareth threw for 383 yards and 4 td’s in their loss to Parkland in week 3. Daniel Harding owns the school record when he threw for 426 yards vs Central Catholic in 2010.
RECEIVERS:
Zack Gillen of Wilson leads the District for receivers in all three career categories. Gillen has 107 receptions good for 1,658 yards and 20 td grabs. Gillen moved up to 6th place all-time at Wilson in yardage as he moved ahead of Brian Cooper who had 1,504 career receiving yards from 2006-09. Jared Graeff of Minersville and Trevor Amorim of Northern Lehigh both went over 1,000 yards in reception yardage in their careers. Graeff has 1,166 yards on 87 catches and Amorim has 1,022 yards on 55 catches. Amorim is only the 5th Bulldog to have 1,000 yards receiving in a career. Nolan Lobb of Nazareth caught 13 passes for a school record 264 yards and 4 td’s against Parkland last week. His 264 yards break the old record of 240 yards that Tommy Manos set in 2018 vs Whitehall. His 4 td grabs ties Jahan Dotson’s school record. Dotson caught 4 td’s vs Wyoming Valley West in 2015 as a sophomore. Dotson also holds the single game reception record with 15 that he had as a freshman vs Emmaus.
