SPRINGFIELD: Entering their Friday night Central League contest the Springfield Cougars were looking to accomplished something it hasn’t done since the 1994 season and that’s start the season at 3-0. Their opponent for the Cougars home opener was the Penncrest Lions who like the Cougars are under the direction of a first year head coach. In the third quarter Murphy again struck this time from 19 yards out.

In the fourth quarter Cameron Durham took a jet sweep and went off to the races for a 44 yard touchdown. Later in the frame Aaron Coyne capped the scoring with his 54 yard touchdown run.
