Laytos Leads Lions Past Lakeland

Lackawanna Trail doubled up the Chiefs tonight, 28-14, enroute to their first 5-0 start in twenty-seven years. The Lions were led by Eric Laytos, who carried the ball 20 times for 146 yards including a two-yard touchdown dive.

The Lions also saw Marvess Rosiak compile 74 yards on eight totes. Lackawanna Trail quarterback Caleb Darling threw the ball eight times, completing five passes for 46 yards.

Lakeland’s signal caller Kyle Kiehart connected on 12 of 21 passes for 129 yards. Kiehart’s favorite target was Alex Filarsky who made seven catches for 66 yards. The Chiefs’ runners, Ryan Nichols and Tyler Brady, were held to a combined average of 3.6 yards per carry.

Lakeland will travel to Carbondale for a week six battle while the Lions will welcome Mid-Valley to Pride Stadium.
