In their only non-conference game of the season, the Delco Knights handily beat the George School 50-21.
This game was never really close, in what has become a theme this year for Delco. The Cougars went up first after an impressive touchdown run from Jeremy Tyson. After that Delco Christian started to take over. Zac Moore who was nearly unstoppable last night scored with 8:10 in the first to tie the game. Then after a Tyler Winkis interception Andrew Crisanti hit a 34 yard field goal to put Delco Christian up 10-7.

The Knights were missing a few tackles and had a somewhat tough time trying to put down Jeremy Tyson and Asa Brooker as the Cougars started to claw their way back in. Luke Haskins was able to contain the George school run game and then Delco Christian started to hit their stride. Hirshman connected with Austin Stephens for a big gain that set up a touchdown for Winkis to put the Knights up 16-7.

Delco recovered a Clinton fumble and then Moore put in touchdown number two, score 30-7. Then, history happened. From the Delco Christian ten Moore put in another 90 yard touchdown run, the longest in Delco football history. With 2.2 seconds in the half, Matt Hirshman passed to Austin Stephens for Stephens’ first touchdown reception of the season to put the Knights up 44-7 and start the mercy clock.

Coach Favino stressed to his players during halftime that although he was putting his seconds in he wanted the first string guys to mentor their position, to build up a legacy. Besides a few hiccups, the second tier guys looked pretty good. Jack Davis scored for the Knights with 2:28 in the third to put Delco Christian up 50-14, a record for most points Delco has ever scored. Other than a 50 yard run by Brooker for the Cougars, nothing else was working on their side of the ball. The final score of the game Delco Christian 50 George School 21.
Once again congratulations to Zac Moore on his historic 90 yard touchdown run. Next week the Knights travel to BAL powerhouse Lower Moreland away for another key game.

for the Knights, Evan Villella.
